Compliance and Enforcement
As the economic regulator of Uisce Éireann, previously also known as Irish Water, the CRU can conduct audits, spot checks and other investigations of compliance with Customer Handbooks and approved Codes of Practice.
Customer Handbooks
A critical function of the CRU is to ensure that customers of Uisce Éireann receive a high quality of service from the utility. This is achieved through setting minimum standards which Uisce Éireann must offer its customers.
These customer standards are published in the Customer Handbooks developed by the CRU setting out requirements to which Uisce Éireann must adhere when providing water and wastewater services to customers.
- Uisce Éireann Domestic Customer Handbook 2020 (CRU/20116a)
- Uisce Éireann Non-Domestic Customer Handbook 2020 (CRU/20117b)
The CRU conducts audits and spot checks of Uisce Éireann to monitor compliance with the requirements contained in the Domestic and Non-Domestic Customer Handbooks.
