The Water Charges Plan was originally approved by the Commission on 30th
September 2014. Subsequently, on 28th December 2014, the Water Services
Act 2014 was introduced. This meant that certain aspects of the approved
Plan, including the level of charges for water and wastewater services, needed
to be modified. The Water Services Act 2014 can be viewed here.
In that context, the CER has today, 5th March 2015, published the
modified Water Charges Plan for the period 1st October 2014 to 31st December
2016 submitted by Irish Water to the CER and our associated decision to approve
the revised plan.
The CER’s assessment of Irish Water’s costs for the period 1st October
2014 to 31st December 2014 remains as set out in our September decision
(CER/14/746 and CER/14/454) with one change to take account of the fact that
Irish Water are not required to pay commercial rates for the period 1st January
2015 to 31st December 2016 under the Water Services Act 2014.
The revised Water Charges Plan, the CER’s decision approving the plan
and supporting documentation are available below.
