CRU Accredits Price Comparison Website Energy Switch

The CRU has announced the accreditation of ‘Energy Switch’, a price comparison website in the Irish energy market.

To achieve CRU accreditation, Energy Switch demonstrated full compliance with the CRU’s Price Comparison Website Accreditation Framework. Following a thorough review of the evidence submitted, the CRU is satisfied that Energy Switch provides a reliable, impartial, and transparent service for comparing electricity and gas prices.

The accreditation of Energy Switch now brings the number of CRU accredited price comparison websites to four, and will join Bonkers, Switcher and Power to Switch to ensure a wider range of options for customers, when comparing supplier offers to either switch supplier or renegotiate with their current supplier.

All four price comparison websites will be audited by the CRU on an annual basis to ensure continued compliance with the accreditation framework. The framework aims to provide trust and confidence in price comparison services, helping customers make informed decisions about the best publicly available energy tariffs. Accreditation signals that a website meets the CRU’s standards for accuracy, transparency, and impartiality. This helps customers make an informed choice on the best tariff offers that are publicly available from energy suppliers.
