Gas safety for construction and excavation works
If you’re planning construction, excavation, landscaping, or groundworks, you need to know where gas infrastructure is located before you start.
Dial before you dig (DBYD)
Before you begin any construction or digging work, make sure to use the DBYD service to check for underground gas pipelines. This is vital in order to prevent serious accidents, costly damage, and service interruptions.
Contact the DBYD service by phoning 1850 42 77 47 or emailing dig@gasnetworks.ie
Why does it matter?
