The CRU has today, 18th Decemeber 2018, published its decision on Irish Water’s enduring Connection Charging Policy. This decision impacts any customer wishing to connect to the public water and / or wastewater network. Irish Water’s enduring Connection Charging Policy will come into effect on the 1st April 2019. Until that date, there are transitional arrangements also in place to accomodate customers who apply for a connection between 1st January 2019 and 31st March 2019. The level of service customers can expect from Irish Water relating to their new connection will change from that which is currently on offer under the existing connection charging policy. Irish Water’s enduring Connection Charging Policy is clearer, more equitable and easier to understand than the arrangements currently in place.
Irish Water’s enduring Connection Charging Policy is published on Irish Water’s website and can be accessed at https://www.water.ie/connections/information/connection-charges/
In October 2018, the CRU published its proposed decision on Irish Water’s enduring Connection Charging Policy following a public consultation held on the matter earlier in 2018.
