Water Connection Charging Policy

Consultation is now closed

The CRU has today, 12th January 2018, published a Consultation Paper on Irish Water’s proposed Connection Charging Policy. This consultation impacts any customer wishing to connect to the public water and / or wastewater network. The current regime of charging customers for connections is changing and this consultation includes proposals by Irish Water on a new charging mechanism. The level of service customers can expect from Irish Water relating to their new connection will also change from that which is currently available.  The CRU is seeking the views of the public on Irish Water’s proposals. Responses to this consultation paper can be emailed to the Water Division at waterconnections@cru.ie

In October 2017, the CRU published an Information Note outlining existing connection charging policy and the rationale for Irish Water to develop a new enduring connection policy. The Information Note also signalled the CRU’s intention to consult on Irish Water’s Connection Charging Policy proposals.
