CRU Approves Updated Water Charges Plan for 2026/27
The Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) has approved and published an updated version of Uisce Éireann's Water Charges Plan, which takes effect from 1 October 2026.

The Water Charges Plan outlines how Uisce Éireann charges its customers for water supply and wastewater services. Under the Water Services (No. 2) Act 2013, approval of the Plan by the CRU enables Uisce Éireann to apply the charges outlined within it.
The updated Plan reflects recent CRU decisions relating to non-domestic water and trade effluent charging arrangements, including the decision on Uisce Éireann's Non-Domestic and Trade Effluent Tariff Framework (CRU/2026/80), published on 4 June 2026, and the approval of tariffs set out in Uisce Éireann's Non-Domestic and Trade Effluent Tariff Information Paper (CRU/2026/03), published on 8 July 2026.
The Plan states that Uisce Éireann's approach to charging customers remains consistent with the customer service standards set out in the CRU's Domestic and Non-Domestic Customer Handbooks.
This Water Charges Plan applies from 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2027. It may be amended during that period to reflect any future CRU decisions relating to customer charges or to clarify and supplement its provisions.
