The CRU is today, 14 March 2023, publishing letters which it issued to EirGrid and ESB Networks, directing them to give a grid connection offer to any applicant located in the Ireland Level 1 Locational Capacity Constraint Area, that is successful in the T-4 Capacity Auction for 2027/28, taking into account certain requirements and considerations.

These letters are being issued by the CRU given the possible shortfall of capacity in Ireland in 2027 and 2028 that is outlined in the Generation Capacity Statement 2022-31.
