The CRU today, 2 February 2023, publishes an update on Gas Networks Ireland’s (GNI) Ten Year

Network Development Plan 2022. Following a reprioritisation of outputs of the 2022 CRU Work

Plan, in response to the impact of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the corresponding impacts on

Irish energy prices and security of supply challenges, it was determined that a consultation and

development process in line with the legislative requirements for a GNI NDP 2022 would not be

undertaken.

In the absence of a formal NDP 2022, GNI has developed an alternate document, a Gas Forecast

Statement 2022, to inform network maintenance and development planning. This document is

expected to be published on the GNI website in Q1 2023.
