BGE Response to ToU Consultation

Smart Meter Upgrade

The CRU has published a consultation paper on the Smart Meter Data Access code (CRU202265) alongside a draft version of the Smart Meter Data Access Code (CRU202265a). The draft Smart Meter Data Access Code is a set of rules and regulations, developed by the CRU, which will determine how smart meter data can be accessed by electricity market participants and third parties. The main objective of the Smart Meter Data Access Code is to ensure customer interests and their respective smart meter data are protected and secure. To support the consultation process and the development of a Smart Meter Data Access Code, the CRU has posed consultation questions that respondents may use as a basis for their review. Extension to the consultation on the Smart Meter Data Access Code The CRU has today, 25 August 2022, decided to extend the deadline for responses to its consultation on the Smart Meter Data Access Code to 17.00 Wednesday 21st September 2022. This follows requests from stakeholders to extend the deadline. Update on the Smart Meter Data Access Code Consultation Process Following this consultation, the CRU will publish a proposed decision on the Smart Meter Data Access Code which will incorporate responses received to the consultation . This will allow for certain sections and schedules of the draft Smart Meter Data Access Code that are currently undrafted and dependent on consultation responses to be provided in a proposed decision. This will enable the CRU to further consult with stakeholders on a near to final version of the code.
