Consultation response Identification of National Electricity Crisis Scenarios for Ireland

Risk Preparedness Regulation

The CRU has today, 10th May 2022, published the Risk Preparedness Plan for electricity. Regulation EU 2019/941 on risk preparedness in the electricity sector sets out requirements for each EU Member State to ensure that consistent plans are in place to prevent, prepare for and manage events that may result in a loss of electricity supply to customers. As Competent Authority for Ireland for this regulation, and in close collaboration with EirGrid and ESBN, the CRU has developed a Risk Preparedness Plan. A Draft Plan was published for consultation in August 2021 (CRU 21/098); this final version includes some changes made based on the response to that consultation, as well as some updates related to the current Security of Supply actions, as detailed in CRU 21/115.
