Energy Communities and Active Consumers
The CRU is today, 2 November 2021 publishing a Conclusions Paper on the topics of energy communities and active consumers. This paper summarises the responses received for the Consultation on Energy Communities and Active Consumers (CRU/21028) published earlier this year. It also discusses the feedback received during the CRU’s webinars on these topics, which were held at the end of June.
The document outlines several conclusions, rather than decisions, which will help form the basis for the upcoming work related to the inclusion of new market actors, such as energy communities and active consumers in the energy sector.
The CRU is also publishing a summary note alongside the main Conclusions Paper which specifically contains the conclusions and next steps the CRU is planning to take to implement the enabling regulatory framework for energy communities and active consumers.
This paper is being published primarily for information purposes; however, the CRU welcomes feedback from interested market actors and stakeholders. Any comments on the publication can be sent to CEPinfo@cru.ie.
