CER advises that it has today, 13th March 2015, published a decision under the non-GPA Policy..   CER has directed EirGrid under CER/09/099 "Treatment of Small, Renewable and Low Carbon Generators outside the Group Processing Approach", to offer a grid connection to Kilpaddoge Energy Ltd for connection of a windfarm to EG's 220 kV substation at Kilpaddoge.  The connection is offered under the Experimental/Research public interest criterion. The wind farm will use General Electric turbines with 200 kW batteries installed and integrated with each turbine giving an installed capacity of 2.6MW of batteries.
