The Electricity distribution system can suffer serious damages from high winds, lightning and rainfall during a storm. This damage could be anything from falling trees breaking powerlines, flooding of underground cable vaults to a lightning strike damaging electricity equipment. ESB Networks teams are responsible for repairing the equipment but it can take time for them to locate the damaged network and complete the repairs. You can report a fault through:

  • ESB Network’s 24-hour emergency number 1800372999 or +353 212382410. It is advised to have your MPRN to hand when contacting ESB Networks. This number can be found on your electricity bill.
