The Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government has recently asked the CRU to carry out a review of Irish Water’s proposed appraoch to the Water Supply Project for the Eastern and Midlands Region. The request, issued under section 40 of the Water Services (No. 2) Act 2013, is consistent with the CRU’s role as independent economic regulator of Irish Water, including that to review Irish Water’s proposed capital investment plans as part of the process to approve proposed water charges plans under governing legilsation. The CRU review will culminate in a report to the Mininster.
