The CRU has today, 28 September 2018, published a Consultation Paper on Gas Safety Regulatory Framework for Ireland – Gas Safety Case Guidelines for Natural Gas & LPG Licensed Undertakings.
The key change to the Guidelines is the incorporation of the use of Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) in natural gas transmission and distribution networks by updating Part D and Part E of the Guidelines. No amendments are required in Part F to accommodate the shipping/supplying of RNG to final customers. The opportunity was also taken to update details in relation to CNG supplier undertakings in Part I.
Other minor amendments to the Guidelines include:
• Updates to reflect CRU’s name change from CER to CRU and respective document formatting.
• Clarifications and removal of duplicated text through the Guidelines.
Comments on this consultation paper should be sent to Aidan O’Connor, available at GSFteam@cru.ie, by 17:00 on 31 October 2018.
