ESB Networks

ESB networks are working to restore power as quickly and as safely as possible. You can find updates and estimated restoration times on Powercheck.ie.

The general public should stay safe and stay clear of our electricity infrastructure.

As always, please keep well clear of electricity poles and overhead lines. Contact with live electricity is extremely dangerous and can be fatal. You must always keep a safe distance because electricity is very powerful and can jump gaps.

While in and around the home, make sure your electrical equipment is in good condition and never hang anything near electricity wires.

Remember: Always stay safe and stay clear of electricity lines and wires as these are live and therefore dangerous.

You can report any damage to ESB Networks by contacting their emergency phone number: 1800 372 999 / 021 238 2410 (24 hours/7 days).

  • Electricity wires are always live, never approach.
  • If you see fallen or damaged wires, keep clear and phone ESB Networks immediately on 1800 372 999 / 021 238 2410.
  • Always look up and keep a safe distance from wires and poles.
  • Never attach anything to ESB Networks poles or wires.
  • Do not work or fly anything near overhead wires.

Uisce Éireann

Due to the severity of the storm, Uisce Éireann had activated its emergency response processes, including deploying generators at key sites where power outages were likely. Uisce Éireann crews are now on the ground assessing the full impact and working with the ESB to restore power and return the water supply to normal levels as quickly as possible.

They are also working closely with the ESB to return power to key water services sites as quickly as possible. Once electrical power has been restored, it will take time for the networks to fill and for water supplies to be fully restored.

In the event of a loss of supply, most properties should have adequate storage in their attic tanks for hygiene purposes for at least 24 hours. There are some simple steps people can take to conserve their water, such as avoiding the use of water-intensive appliances during this time.

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.

Customers can visit www.water.ie and social media channels for updates and to get in touch with any issues or concerns via their 24/7 customer care centre at 1800 278 278. People can also sign up online to their free text alert system to get regular updates about their local supplies.
